Give and Take
(Dedicated to the Teachers and Students of America)

It’s an American saying

Or the feeling of the universe,

I teach my children

Hope they remember my own verse.

Dad was growing up in a place far from the U.S.A.

They are proud to have been born here

They feel Dad’s feelings of being blessed

To be "reborn" with the Freedom that’s so dear.

Give and Take, that’s for me to remember

A refugee from the land lost to Communism

Give and Take, that’s for all who chose to come here

America, the land of altruism.

Do not come to my America

Just to take and run;

Treat her as your home when you are here to stay

Let your thankful heart be shining in the Sun…

Poet's note: The man who was responsible for the Sept. 11 terrorist attack on American soil forgot that his family immigrated to America and became very rich, owning everything that a native born American would only dream.  That his fellow countrymen and religious practitioners have come here in search of happiness, freedom and liberty.
