A Note To Myself (And To You)

September 11, 2002

For a long, long time -- a year since the fall of the Twin Towers, I've pondered to myself what small thing I could do for my America besides my words of poetry? There are countless charitable organizations out there that I wanted to help with the proceeds of my books of poems. My heart freezes on to "American Heart Association."

So if you care for me to autograph my books of poems for you, then a small deed is now realized for I ask that you, for each copy, write a five-dollar check to AHA, and send it along with a fifteen-dollar check written to Voco Publishing Ltd., P.O. Box 1535, Downey, CA 90240.

So dear America, thank you for blessing me with a heart that forever carries my love and gratitude…
