America's Heart for Me

Linh, your flame is lit with each piece of granite that is the headstone of men and women who sought to free you. The minute they passed they reached out to you,
passing to you their names, their wishes, their loves and their
tragedies. Your words are their words, your breath is their breath.
They cannot speak so you must do so for them. They no longer can cry --
you must carry their tears. Carry them carefully for they are as sacred
as any wine and as full of passion as any sunrise or sunset. You are
the son or daughter they never had or will never see again.
